What the labels ask for, and what they do not
The semaglutide and tirzepatide labels ask prescribers to monitor kidney function when someone is losing fluid, to watch for pancreatitis and gallbladder symptoms, and to adjust insulin or sulfonylurea doses. They do not ask for routine calcitonin, thyroid ultrasound, lipase or amylase, and they say so in plain words. Each page here quotes the relevant label sentence so you know which tests are expected and which are a judgement call.

Every range is copied from a named public source, mostly MedlinePlus and the KDIGO 2024 kidney guideline, with the date we checked it. Laboratories set their own reference intervals for their own methods and populations, and the interval printed on your report is the one that applies to your sample. Use these pages to understand the report, then take questions to the clinician who ordered it.
